Timmy is one of the nicest names I know of. If I ever get a tortoise, it will be named Timmy regardless of sex. Timmy suits a tortoise so well...

@Skilpadde - I think Timmy is a great name for a tortoise.

An old-looking tortoise might be an 'Aristotle' or 'Aristophanes' or 'Agamemnon'.

Give it the name of a well-know ancient figure, such as Socrates, Hippocrates, Plato, Thales etc.
