but if one is compact, one tends to have far less musculoskeletal ailments such as arthritis and spinal issues. but the urge to be taller seems to be universal, I mean, john wayne himself wore elevator shoes even though he was 6'4"!

yes, that's true - if I fall, it doesn't hurt as bad. But really, most of my trousers I bought at the kid's shops, since otherwise I'd need to shorten it! i mean, it's not like I'm really complaining, but I wouldn't mind being slightly taller :)

my older sister is about 5'6" and occasionally likes wearing elevator boots that make her 6' or so, she considers that a useful novelty. so you could try elevator boots or such and see how you like the extra height. but the taller you are the harder you fall, a caution. I can tell you from my 6'3" height [not even that tall] that I am always having to watch my head and often forgetting when distracted by anything, resulting in a painful knot upon collision with low-hanging object. it gets VERY tiring to always be watching out for such. if I was 5'9" I would find that a much more useful and comfortable height, to be honest.

I'm 5'10" and it's the perfect height for...pretty much everything not on a basketball court. Though, to be honest, even Tyrion Lannister could block my shots on a Bball court.

Anyways, unlike basketball, football, rugby, or baseball...auto racing requires two balls. Watching this made me happy today:

Thanks for the advice, but I can't stand any kind of elevated shoes :) And yes, I remember how that notorious Finn used to tell me how he can't enter bathrooms without hitting himself into head, so yes, I can see that height doesn't have an appeal at times.

I was being facetious more than anything really - but I find it funny when sitting in a tram or bus, my legs still don't reach the ground :jester:

I just watched some videos of my brother's new Jack Russel puppy. The dog is not only adorable but pretty smart. S(he) already knows how to sit and bark when asked. My brother also had a vid of his cat whom he has trained to ring a desktop school bell in order to receive a treat. :)

I went to the food bank for the first time today and didn't know what to expect. The intake person was very nice and helpful and gave me lots of food. This made me happy to know that I live in a place where people take care of others when they need help. So I'm both happy and thankful.

just think of all the money you save by not having to get big and tall clothing [hard to find and generally expensive], less on food, less requirements for space in cars and such [I can't fit into subcompact autos at all] etc.

Yes. This. I can fit in (and absolutely never want to get out of) my best friend's Miata. That car feels exactly like if Mazda themselves just sat me down and built the car around me, to exactly my tastes.
