Apparently I'm going to have houseguests from Finland in a couple of weeks, this should be interesting...

How my heart skipped a bunch of beats earlier today, and how it's still freaking me out :(

That happened to me more than a few times when I was heavily crushing on someone. I made a post about it in the health section & some suggest that i get my blood pressure checked

Yea, I already know I have high blood pressure (despite being a runner).

Hey: I got the same thing--it's an arrhythmia.

My thoughts and experiences after seeing a cardio to get it checked out:

1) It's more than likely no big deal: 50% of the population gets it from time to time
2) Don't think about it--the more you think about it, the more you'll notice it, anxiety increases--it'll happen more.
3) If you have the insurance, time, and money and are still worried about it, it may be worth it to see a cardiologist to get it checked out.

If this was just an isolated incident, do your best to ignore it and move on!

Hope this helps!

Me too. It freaked me out so bad once I ended up in the emergency room. Once I learned that it was not serious it doesn't bother me nearly as much.

It might be helpful to keep track of what you were doing & feeling when that happens. It might have certain triggers. Mine were heavily crushing on Miranda Cosgrove  I shouldn't have that happen anymore because I'm no longer crushing on Miranda. But I guess I could have it again if I start heavily crushing on my girlfriend Megz

Thanks for all of the responses on the heart thing :). I had had it happen many times in the past, but the one last night lasted a few times longer than it had ever happened before... which is why it actually scared me. I recently found out that I have Marfan's syndrome, and that has heart related issues tied to it. Although I've had tests recently to check my heart and they say it's fine, so it's likely nothing serious :?. I'm supposed to get some tests done later to check up on my heart. Marfan's syndrome has no cure... just maintenance and watching out for anything bad so it can be fixed in time :|
