After the last 7 days, I'm grateful to be alive. I was caught in a flood, while camping in Italy and lost a few of my things. I woke up in several inches of water at 3 am and the water rose rapidly. I ended up huddled under the fly sheet of my tent in a lightni ng storm.
After that I cycled through hundreds od miles of flooded landscape which felt sureal. It rained heavily and the tradfic in Italy has been fast and dangerous the whole way. I havn't been able to relax at all.
I'm grateful for my friend Nino, who has given me a beatiful house to stay in here in Sicily. He's lent me a phone because my one is dead and he's told me I can stay here for as long as I like. He does all of this despite being busy and despite the fact that we havn't seen each other for 15 years.

^^^ What a great and grateful story. Your persistence is to be commended. While it didn't flood, I did take a month long canoe trip during which is rained every day but there. I have woken up with my sleeping bag sodden. I can really sympathize and I am glad you made it through.

I am grateful for my little girl, who is not little anymore, but has grown into a fine young woman.

Fixed riding lawnmower to be able to handle snow when it comes . But lotsa leaves to mulch still

Well this is awkward , redesigned 2X , for snow. Now ..cripes gotta redesign the friggin muffler guard on same garden tractor . (Glorified riding lawnmower)
So when it runs into piles of leaves to mulch . It doesn t set the thing on fire ,
Like the previous one. Thankful that , i have gotta plan . To improve ? Fix it .?
Well , i got hope .

I was just thinking some of the same: my house, my home, the great-crested flycatcher reeping in the trees. The breeze. A bed. Pillows. I could go on and on.
