My parents are now back from their trip to Jamaica! My mother came over this afternoon and we went out for a coffee while she told me some really interesting things about their trip. She said the people in Jamaica are very kind, friendly and are always joking. Jamaican people say that they shorten a lot of words and phrases because they're "too lazy", but actually they do work hard but are very laid-back. They sound a lot more pleasant and less uptight than a lot of people here in the north. :)

On Valentine's Day my aunt who also came along mentioned to the hotel waitress that it was my parents 45th anniversary. My parents had no real special plans, they were just going to enjoy relaxing and going to the beach, but when they went back to the hotel restaurant they had a table all decorated and they got a cake and even some live music. This was all a big surprise, and Mom admitted she and my Dad got a bit teary-eyed. :)

My mother brought me a couple of gifts, a bright pink plush toy turtle with Jamaica printed on her shell, and a cool black t-shirt.

I got a place at a free Tony Attwood seminar that is happening local to me. I hadn't even heard about it and if I hadn't read a carer's newsletter that I got in the post (which I normally wouldn't read) I wouldn't have known about it. Pretty chuffed.

I think I finally cracked what is wrong with our cat. We adopted her in September and she has been insane ever since. She does her best, but I think she has been abused and she's been hard to help, but we keep trying. I'm almost 100% certain this is her issue - Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome or 'Rippling Skin Disorder'. http://cats.about.com/od/healthfaqs/f/ripplingskin.htm

Guess we need to visit the vet, which she will hate, to rule out other issues. I think she has been profoundly abused prior to finding a home with us, so I think it is behavioural.

It was sunshine today, which happens seldom at this time of the year in my region.

I finally managed to resubscribe to Daily Burn. I look forward to developing the square pupils promised to me by the advertisements.

I get to work in my favorite part of the store tomorrow, and I have another two days off after that.

I finally got the urge to use my telescope again for the first time in a while after seeing Earth's 3 nearest neighbors in some sort of portrait.
There was the Moon barely lit by the Sun but much of it was lit by Earthshine
Then there was bright Venus full because it's on the farside (funny fact Venus is a Silmaril in Tolkienverse).
Then there was Mars above Venus, still very red even though it too is on the farside.

Tomorrow I am going to B.A.R.F. Bay Area Renaissance Festival, (Floridians usually don't mean SF when they say "Bay Area")!
