The Sun isn't really a massive ball of hot plasma that is 109 times bigger than the Earth. From outer space you can clearly see that it's just a very bright lightbulb in the sky. The reason why we have nighttimes is because during the later hours of the day, the bulb gets dimmer and dimmer until it burns out, and it takes until morning for someone to replace it.

I didn't get a reeking noseful of septic scent today when I had to inspect my septic tank. :eew:

because the health department sent out 5000 letters to homeowners in my county demanding that we check our septic tanks and check off things on a checklist [filters unclogged, not overflowing, drain field ok etc.], sign and return. so that is what I had to do.
