My upstairs neighbour makes massive noise, and woke me up this morning with banging, crashing, thudding, scraping sounds, as if he was moving serious furniture around. It sounds like someone has just pushed over a massiv bookcase, or picked up the end of the sofa then forcefully dropped it. The sounds are bizarre and not just ordinary "oops dropped a coffee mug/dropped a dictionary...."
This happens a lot. He can't be moving/rearranging furniture every day of the week....so what gives???
I know that he has issues --- I've gone up and politely spoken to him about the noises before. He has epilepsy but is under medication for it, but some of these noises could not be accounted for by a seizure; they are prolonged, I hear footsteps marching across my ceiling in between the crashing thudding noises of what sounds like the furniture, etc. He seems to have other mental issues also.
I'm trying hard NOT to think he's totally an as*hole because I know he has mental issues; but I can't help wondering if some of this noise making is bitterly intended -- he seems to do it in the early hours of the morning, and just after I've gone to bed (he probably hears my TV switched off).
Some of the thumps and thuds are SO loud and so sudden that I've physically jumped and made an involuntary shriek out loud, in shock.
I'm going to have to talk to the managers of my building soon, but I don't want to play the aspie card. I believe these noises would be impossible to live with even for an NT, and it's not just my ASD that makes it horrible to live under or seem loud, it really is outside of normal noises. I'm miserable. All the other tenants are quiet older people, as the former one above me was. Why do I have to live underneath the younger, problem tenant?
