I don't get why I feel embarrassed about farting but not about periods. One time I had period cramps and said I have a stomachache and someone said "is it gas?" and I felt so embarrassed so I was like "no, it's menstrual cramps." I said it without shame even though there were men in the room.
I would never let anyone think I have gas!
It's good that you're not embarrassed about your periods. When I was a teenager I would rather have died than tell any boys or men that I was having my period. I thought you weren't supposed to tell them ever. I honestly thought it was this big secret girls and women were forbidden to let any male people know about. Except maybe a doctor.
And of course women aren't supposed to fart, either. Or belch. No wonder we're so b!tchy, we're on the verge of exploding.
Yeah, I think I take the "burping and farting isn't feminine" thing to heart too much and feel extremely shameful if I fart in front of anybody, even women (I physically can't burp so I don't ever have to worry about that). But periods are feminine so I don't mind being open about it.
But if I had to go for a colonoscopy I'd probably demand a woman nurse to do it, as I'd feel too embarrassed to talk about poop and farting to a man nurse even though they saw loads of women before me having a colonoscopy. But it's just how
I feel.
