Wish I was going to Canada. My sister has a Summer house in the Eastern Townships, in North Hatley, Quebec, it's gorgeous out there. I'm stuck working here in the California desert, and it's VERY hot, over 110 degrees today...

I came to Palm Springs on vacation, during the Winter time, and fell in love with it. It can be a very healing and magical place... Unfortunately, the Summers in the desert are absolutely torrid, just miserable, the sun beats on you mercilessly like a blinding assault, and, believe it or not, it can be actually humid, on account of the zillions of golf courses and lush settings everywhere.

Why not just leave :? It seems like the negatives outweigh the positives.
