Sudden lower back pains lasts more than a week? Or even a month?

Hmm... Then I guess I'll learn few things about pain management.

...
Seriously. Last, last year, I got too many 1st times other than 1st time job, 1st time accepting scholarships and finishing it behind my family's back -- 1st time getting hit and run, 1st time witnessing someone's death, 1st time encountering CHAINS of deaths, 1st time encountering a major flood, 1st time being confined in a hospital with a first time being in an emergency room and getting an IV, also 1st time getting a chickenpox, and an almost 1st kiss wasted (which I'm glad it didn't actually happen)
Then last year... Nothing new.

That's an option to consider

My mind feels blank or empty today. I didn't sleep well & kept waking up & tossing & turning so that's probably why.

Actually, this is the first real effort I've made to get a shiny. Normally, I would've given up days ago and just settled on a "proper" nature, but seeing as I haven't caught any since the gameboy era, I think it's high time I did so. I swear it used to be so much easier back then, as I ran into well over a dozen, even catching one of the legendaries in shiny form.

ah, gameboy era...how long ago was that?

i think your luck from that time ran out. :P

well-hopefully you catch one soon, and you can get some sleep!
Oh lord, that AGES ago -- Gold and Silver, the first games with the shiny mechanic were released like in what... 2001? So that's over a decade and a half ago.

But it appears not all luck is lost, as I finally got my shiny Popplio after nearly 34 hours of resets in half-hour to 1-hour increments across 9-ish days. It's a terrible nature (Naughty), but screw it -- Bieber has graced me with his shiny sealy presence. My hands were shaking the moment I saw him appear on my screen. It just makes all this effort worth it, and kicks off 2017 on a high note.

I got my female Popplio after about an hour of soft resetting. She's Hardy ( :wall: if I really love her I can find a good set for her. And I wuv her! ), though she evolved all the way into Prinmarina before I left MeleMele island! She's so pretty,

I'm wondering why someone won't right me back which I often do.

In short: natures are personality traits that affect stats. Like if you have one that's hasty, then he/she will have a really high speed stat. Naughty, quirky, serious, and hardy don't do anything to improve your stats at all.

Going off Primarina's base stats, Modest and Calm natures would work well. It's understandable settling though, given how long it takes to go through all that dialogue per reset. Hardy's not bad though, since you're not missing out on Primarina's great special attack and special defense.

That was actually Junior year of high school for me at that point, so I personally find it weird to refer to it as a long time ago, but I gotta keep it real -- that amount of time is significant.

And thanks! That extra sparkle makes the effort worthwhile.

As for natures...

to expand on this, there are 25 personality traits in all, which affect 2 of the 5 stats a pokemon comes with (Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed, with HP being omitted), boosting one by 10% at the cost of lowering another by 10%. 5 of these natures (mentioned above, except omit Naughty, and add in Docile and Bashful) actually wind up boosting and reducing the same stat, which is why those end up doing nothing. Unfortunately for me, my Popplio ended up being Naughty, which boosts Attack at the cost of lowering Special Defense, so essentially mine is taking a hit on one of its better stats to increase one of its worse ones, but it's shiny so I can't really complain.

Wow Raleigh, welcome back, glad you feel really well! Good way to start the year.

Edna, that's crazy: a really eventful year followed by an uneventful one. I hope you have no bad firsts this year and maybe a good first or two. :)

SentientPotato, congrats. What can you do with your shiny now?

I don't think it's a specifically ASD thing but I am finding much of the attitudes toward women/dating on this forum to be quite troubling.

I understand how terrible loneliness and isolation can be and the frustration at not being able to make a connection is all too real but it seems many of the conclusions being drawn are pretty gross.

Ooh I know the feeling all too well. I like peppermint or ginger or some bland food when I feel that way. If I can laugh at my anxiety with someone, or cry to release the tension, that helps me get past it faster. Try to remember that you're safe, that the anxiety is a normal feeling, that the feelings are just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
