Just made the mistake of looking at a '15 wierd Australian Animals' site.......eeeeew!

Four and a half feet long bats; 'Flying Foxes', but they are BATS!

Eighteen feet long crocodiles!

Huge 'Venti Jellyfish', only discovered in 2014.

And the ever popular Blue-Ringed-Octopus, which is deadly poisonous; no cure/antidote for the poison exists.

Just lovely.

I've never heard of the venti jellyfish though. How big does it get? is it dangerous?

Only read the term'Venti Jellyfish' on one site.....another site referred to the creature as 'Big Snotty'.

Oh thanks for adding that, Sylkat! Big Snotty gave me some hits when I searched it. Looking at the pic I see why they picked that nickname. Those of you who (like me) have a thing for jellyfish, there are many nice pics here:

What really bugs me about that picture of Venti Jellyfish/ Big Snotty is that that little boy was allowed to TOUCH that thing!

He could have had a reaction, wound up in an E.R............
