You should make one of Growlithe or Arcanine... those two don't get much love on the merchandise front :(

I really love the 80's and 90's and early 2000's. Everything was so cute!

Yeah, everything was cute back then. Nowadays, it seems like many people want everything dark and R-rated. It's just... I find it really scary. :(

dark stuff has been around forever.

oh, what kind of clay do you use?

when i'm not drawing or spamming up this site, i'm making little trinkets a d figurines out of clay too. i mostly use colored sculpey which dries in the oven in around 15 minutes and is pretty durable and easily repaired.

i also have original sculpey, which dries the same but is colorless (well...off white) and acrylic paints are very good for coloring them. i've sculpted lapis like that, alongside peridot and a few other of my own characters.

(their necks tend to crack though...head only being held together by glue or the internal wires used for structure)

curious.

i used to sculpt more in plasticine, and my "crown jewel"is a fully poseable 11 inch sculpture of a chacactr of mine with cloth scarf and shirt.
the armature alone cost me almost 300 dollars. 8O

i recommend using dark colors if you go down that path, because they will smudge and stain with time, and it's a lot more obvious/jarring with light colors.

good choice. 8)

plain wire, twisted upon itself is good if you don't have the cash to invest in a ball and joint armature (which is what i have), but it WILL eventually snap with repeated posing so watch out for that.

it's like surgery, going in and fixing it.

The imbalance is scary though. We shouldn't need to resort to anime or Youtube videos for cuteness. What's wrong with cuteness in mainstream books and TV shows, especially children's shows?

Too much violence or darkness isn't good, and too much cuteness can also get obnoxious. Actually, one of my favorite movies is Enchanted. Have you seen it? The movie pokes fun at fairy tale cute life while still remaining endearing. I've seen it a bunch of times and I laughed every time. I'm smiling just thinking about the movie, but I'm quite sure there are loads of people who hate it.

Um...Quite a lot of anime is actually violent, bloody, or nightmare fuel inducing.

^I know there's anime for adults too. It's just that I've never seen one with a dub that actually sounds realistic. The acting spoils the experience for me honestly.

^I don't just mean for adults; a lot of anime supposedly for children [*Digimon, especially Digimon Tamers*] or teens has, if not violence, then some highly disturbing material. I guess what I'm trying to say is that anime isn't just cute, whether for children, or teens, or young adults, or mature adults. Why did I get into this discussion anyway? I don't know.
