thinking of what to try planting in a small garden in the near future... hoping some asian vegetables, roots, and peppers could grow here for use in cooking, seasoning, and pickling, as there aren’t many asian markets in this town to easily procure such ingredients. that, and maybe some favorite herbs and spices that cost too much to rationalize buying.

though, knowing bamboo is terribly destructive and hard to confine it’s quick expansive growth(one of my grandfathers planted some in his backyard, and found that out the frustrating kind of way.) has me sort of concerned over my general ignorance on plants and gardening and will have to read up on each before trying to plant anything outside in the ground, and to find out as to which plants could be happy to be grown and kept indoors.

Tomorrow I'm buying a curtain rod for the living room. Then I'll be heading out to the apartment to see what has been done sinse the last time I was there. The last time they had cast concrete floor in the bathroom, and they where almost finished laying down the kitchen floor. Oh and my new kitchen had arrived, the boxes was stacked in a corner in the living room. I'm excited :D

It's David Bowie's 70th birthday.

Not to be morbid about it, but why do people who are dead still have birthdays?
Wouldn't birthdays cease at death?

It's common parlance to commemorate famous peoples' birthdays even in death. Shakespeare's birthday as an example is widely commemorated.

good question, though I suppose out of respect people tend to continue one's birthday

Yeah, everything was cute back then. Nowadays, it seems like many people want everything dark and R-rated. It's just... I find it really scary. :(

How long has it been like that? Besides, aren't grown up used to that kinda thing? :?

The imbalance is scary though. We shouldn't need to resort to anime or Youtube videos for cuteness. What's wrong with cuteness in mainstream books and TV shows, especially children's shows?

Too much violence or darkness isn't good, and too much cuteness can also get obnoxious. Actually, one of my favorite movies is Enchanted. Have you seen it? The movie pokes fun at fairy tale cute life while still remaining endearing. I've seen it a bunch of times and I laughed every time. I'm smiling just thinking about the movie, but I'm quite sure there are loads of people who hate it.

I'd personally prefer The Princess Bride over Enchanted.

^Oh, The Princess Bride is brilliant! :D It's the only book/movie I know of that's a parody of satire.

The progress in the apartment is incredible. The last two days they have closed up the hole in the wall they made to access the fuse box. The rest of the kitchen floor is done, and now covered with paper/cardboard to protect it against further tasks, and they are almost done with the same process on the hallway floor. They have put up plasterboards on the walls in the bathroom. My new kitchen who is in cardboard boxes has been moved to the center of the living room, probably so they can access the walls to sparkle, glue on fiberglass scrim and paint it.

Tomorrow I'm ordering these two items online:

There's nothing wrong with my brain.
My mind is as sharp as a tack.
A blunt tack.
Perhaps a little rusty.
And slightly bent.
But still as sharp as a tack.
