I too very much enjoy receiving messages but hate writing replies. It takes me a long enough time writing forum posts, but writing personal messages takes way longer. I'm even more preoccupied with doing it right and I rewrite it a lot and add things as I remember more I meant to say, and I stress about them. And it takes me a very long time to write them. We're not talking mere hours or days unless it's just a sentence.
I stress about writing them, the content, and it prevents me from enjoying the site until I've sent the dang thing.
I'm not quick at doing anything.
That reminds me that on another forum some years ago I received a PM from a guy. It wasn't long and my response wasn't long either, but it took me an entire night doing nothing but write the response. I didn't even go to the forum because if I did I would wanna start replying to threads and I wanted to put that on hold until I had finished that dang PM. Next day, after sleeping and rereading it to make sure it was okay, I sent it and started browsing the forum. I had read the new responses in two threads when he sent me a reply. It was a nightmare!
The only thing worse than writing PMs or other types of personal messages is writing them to someone who is quick to respond. It puts pressure on me, even when they say to take the time I need, I feel bad for being slow getting back to them.
