I too was not aware of this thing called Asperger's until I had already completed my childhood. I sometimes wonder what kind of a different person I would have been if I had known that I was not alone in the world, that there were other people like me. I don't think I would have faced the world as head on as I had if I had thought I had a disease and was not just an unusual personality. My mom has told me she suspected me of having Asperger's or Autism, but deliberately did not have me examined for it because she didn't want any kind of stigma to be attached to me. I can certainly understand that perspective. At the same time, I went through some very difficult periods in my teenage years that continue to affect my personality and my behavior toward others to this day. It may be easier for your nephew if his whole family is similarly afflicted, as at least he will have other people like him around and know he is not alone.

Can understand that your mother did as she did. Its weird to think about,
what kind of persons would we be if we had known all along..

You have a point there, there are others in his family with the same "thing",
so he would not be alone at all.

Theaters suck hardcore, people get so upset when i stop the movie to take a leak
or get some food or something :) dvd at home all the way for me. I have one great
theater-memorie, i was the only one in the audience, that was so quiet and relaxing,
having all that space to myself

all this talk about pants made me realize i`m not wearing any
pants today

but its not as bad as it sounds :)

you know those overalls mechanics and farmers often use..?
thats how i look today :) its just so comfortabel, wake up,
dive into the overalls and get working - not so very fashionabel,
but watch me not care :) its all about the comfort- right now i look
like Mud from the "my name is mud" music vid by primus  hillbillyboy
*spits tobacco on the thread and breaks out the banjo with a grin*

Comfert is the most important thing, thats why I tend to just like to wear all black so couler codeing is not an issue.

Heey, a man of my taste :) i like black myself on clothes,
no bright colors or big pics or things like that, always simple
and clean-cut - and comfortebal!! gotta have the comfort in
things you wear all day long, who cares what it looks like, i
use clothes to retain heat, not much more. Of course i dont
wear potatosacks, like to have clean nice clothes, but nothing
too fancy.

My jaw always drop when i see people on tv that squeez themselfs
into clothes that are obviously to small, and shoes that are not made
for walking in, to look good for others. Problem is, i dont think they
look good, they just look plain weird

Worst clothes ever might just be those babtik-shirts that changes
color after how warm you get :) those hipppie-ish things that where
very popular some years back *shrug* got dizzy when walking by
someone wearing one of those nightmares
