I understand your point of view and why you see self-discipline as an admirable trait, however, I see it as a positive trait, but not something I really care about when choosing my friends. I see traits such as kindness and acceptance more important traits in friendships. I guess we are all different, eh? That's what makes the world such an interesting place.

Now that you have your daughter, you can't be sarcastic about my differences any more. You have to teach my niece to accept individual differences now. It seems as though I got the last laugh, in the end. :)
