People who wrap themselves in bitter self-righteousness,
and then complain that no-one else wants them around.

People who say they are leaving,
and then they never go away.

When people ask specific questions and say they want advice.
When people answer honestly (based on experience), their answers are totally ignored.
They'd rather be coddled and misguided by people who don't have a clue.
It seems many people don't actually want to learn or grow, but prefer staying stuck in self-pity.
A little bit of gratitude could go a long way here.

When people discredit animated shows and movies by saying they're only for kids, and ignore the fact that the adults that make them have to have a passion for animation and have to enjoy their own work to even consider devoting their time to it.

Also, when people get upset that every single animated thing they see aren't all automatically suitable for their kids to watch, and say that adults are childish for wanting to watch something animated.

Why does the WP 'spellchecker' constantly query words that I put in posts, even when they are perfectly legitimate? The latest example is 'layabout', which I've just used in one of the forum games, but this happens on multiple occasions just about every day.

Yes - It won't let me spell orangutan or synaesthesia, to save my life.

Soup. I had soup on a train ride to Connecticut, in 1985.

One should "explore" Connecticut; it's an eleven letter word ...

There is no spellchecker in WP - what you're seeing is the spellchecker in your browser.

You can also have new words (ones it doesn't know, like specialised technical terms for example) or words spelled how you'd like added to your personal dictionary so they won't be flagged as errors.
On Firefox that's done by right-clicking the flagged word and selecting "Add to Dictionary". Other browsers will probably have similar options/capabilities.

I recommend you also install this dictionary to improve the (Firefox) browser's spelling abilities - it's vast and very well maintained.

Its homepage is here, where versions are available for other browsers:

The idea that the law should be lenient on children.

The law should apply equally to children. They should be put in jail for life or be executed if necessary.

To make matters worse, the mere suggestion that the person seeking advice would do well to work on self-improvement is enough to get put on their ever-growing “List of Detractors”, and to become one of the many recipients of all their blame.

I am glad there are no longer any people like that around here.

I wasn't referring to those kind of people. I was referring to the ones who can't be bothered to say thank you, or reply in any way when you answer the questions that they posed. I'm well aware that I put in more effort than I should with my replies but it's annoying to be ghosted just because I've told the truth.

People who have really loud sneezes that sound like a dog barking loudly.

People who do about 20 sneezes. I suffer with hay fever and allergies but even I never do any more than 3 at the most.

That fat has to store in your body instead of just becoming poop, and so after you hit your mid-20s you basically have to diet for the rest of your life.

When your upstairs neighbour decides to do yoga and other exercises above your bedroom at night.

People with loud sports cars or motorcycles. So much noise pollution.

When they dig up any field they can find and build a thousand houses on it, then whine about climate change and produce paper straws.

When series and movies can only be streamed on Netflix and Disney+ and no longer sold in record stores so if you're a fan of something you only have half the collection of box sets forever more.

When parents give their 3-year-old an iPhone or tablet, making the child become dependent on a screen instead of playing with toys and imaginary games.
