I know a lot of this if mentioned before but,
a massively massive library with nice little hideaway spots and lots of computers.
For gym we could have those inflaitable bouncy toys, a trampoline, a cirucus swing, and rope swings (the kind that have a disk which you can both swing
and spin)
All the hallway walls should be decorated with multicolorful imagery, there should be dark/quiet rooms for those of us who have sensory problems or just need to recover from a meltdown.
Each and every teacher should be interviewed by a group of students to make sure they know what they're doing. We need to have a field trip at least once a weak, classes on all types of sciences, art mediums, math, music, history, computers, psycology, languages, definatley social skills, cooking, and at least one counselor who knows what they're doing.
A variety of healthy(!) foods should be provided and a survey taken for student's preferred texture, no uniforms because of individuality and sensory issues,
definitely no loud assemblies, maybe have one class outside if the weather's nice. Absolutley no fire alarms, if we need to do any drills the alarm will be a nice gentle pinging sound. Possibly even employ some of the older students to jumpstart their job experience.
I also think every classroom should have a color/subject theme.
Oh, and we should have a weekly schedule posted in the classrooms and on students notebooks, and a stim room with nice plushie things to cuddle, different types of low pitched soothing sounds, play-doh and engagingly colorful things.
I think grades K- all the way to college should be included, and we should have a pool where students can learn to swim or just have fun.
I should stop there, my post is becoming huge.
Maybe I'll go start a school?
What about those who like loud things? I do, and I couldn't think of anything more boring than a nice quiet tranquil school. I'd want school dances and everything.
