After days of looking, i finally found a place with high yield mining in Elite Dangerous, plenty of Void Opals, Grandiderite and Low Temperature Diamonds. Had a cargo full of the stuff when hull integrity went critical and *BOOM*...

-"Whoops!" 27 million in cargo gone, more than i ever had in the game.

So - now i got extra armor and a shield generator for tomorrows trip...

(Mining in an asteroid belt is certainly something special in VR when you got rocks the size of city buildings going past your ship...)

This mother son relationship may do us good I hope.

The father is deciding whether to be with me or leave. Sigh.

I hate to say, but it sounds like you need to let him leave. He doesn't sound stable or committed. :(
I'm sure you and your son will have a loving relationship and that you'll be a wonderful mother.

I managed to NOT explode today while mining and pulling in over 100 million and bought a new ship in Elite Dangerous.
