Dear ten, Her Majesty looks quite pleased with her chapeau!

Dear PerpetualConfusion, I rather wish that I had that for my nickname, it would have been SO appropriate!

Dear Tequila, I do think that the poor homesick soul should really be sent back home, for the sake of being happier among his brethren, who must be missing him terribly after all this time

Hey everyone

And that does make me feel more unpopular - not because I'm disliked or hated or suchlike - I think I'm too nice to be hated etc - but because I just blend into the wallpaper.

*hugs* for Lundy.

It's ok, I look around at everyone else and still feel the same way a lot of the time here on WP, but I did feel that way constantly during high school. I was mute for a good portion of high school.

I think all of us here feel like that to some extent, many people probably just don't verbalise it.

P.s. I adore you new avatar! He's soooo cute!

That is signature material - you should use it as such ;)

Here we have these things (ok, technically, birds) called Rainbow Lorikeets.

They are beautiful, but they make such a goddamn racket! Driving me slightly nuts today as they are extremely loud and there's a lot of them.

So they're just out there in the wild? 8O
I wish there are birds as colorful as these here!

Such gorgeous birds!
I think I'd tolerate the noise, just to have them around!

Yes they're mostly wild birds, although you can tame them and occasionally they are kept as pets.

You can teach them to talk and such. They just like the area right next to my house because there are quite a few trees that have berries they rather like on them. When I saw extremely loud, I do mean extremely.

I can give you the trees Sylkat, they might go live in your backyard then ;)

I know the most eccentric English lady who keeps a rainbow lorikeet. His name is Rupert and she talks about him like he's her child.

Once, when I was with her and a few other people who did not yet know her very well, she was talking about how Rupert had been "very bothersome this afternoon, he kept on pestering me while I was doing the dishes and tugging on my skirt, and of course I knew exactly what he wanted, poor darling, after his friend died he's been nothing but constantly distraught, wondering where she is."

Said other people were very sympathetic, of course, talking about how hard grief is, especially at such a young age. Then she mentioned putting him in his cage for the evening.

I'm pretty sure you can imagine their reactions.

(Also, hi, thread! I've never been here before!)

Hey Inyanook

Welcome to our thread!

As per you're story, I can bet how the cage comment when down :lmao:
Did they give her an earful or just get away as quickly as possible?

And *hugs* for Guy. I always have a surplus :)

Just look at my avatar, Guy — how could I not? :) Hugs from me, too!

General confusion, really! I swooped to the rescue with clarifications after I stopped laughing myself to tears.

Thanks Kjas! :)

I love the avatar/username you've got going there, by the way. :) I've always wanted to play the Monkey Island games, because the sense of humour really appeals to me, but I've never managed to get my hands on one.

It was the very first Secret of Monkey Island, on an Amiga 500, that did it for me...I played through that game so many times...I have a lot of fond memories.

It is now available on PS3 via the online store, on iPhone, and on PC is special editions with greatly improved graphics, sound, and voice :) I play with the old graphics though...it doesn't feel the same otherwise...
