Remember to put your pants on.

Haha. That was a good one. Seriously though Grisha, maybe you should take a benzo or something.

:thrumleft:

I hope you don't mind me asking - why are you going for counselling?

Well, my parents think I have an addiction to the computer, to be frank. Thye want me to get help, even though I could stop (and have) whenever I want.

That seems like a ridiculous reason to be forced to go to counseling for.

My brother was sent to counselling for that too. He wouldn't get of his room, even for dinner

Well if going on a computer stops a person from eating then obviously there is a problem. I don't think that's the case with Chrissy though.

I guess Chrissy's case isn't as bad then.

It's not! Sorta.....The family computer is downstairs, and i am on it for several hours a day. Sometimes I forget to eat, but I exercise everyday because it is programmed into me. I try to be done by 1 am, and i used to sneak downstairs at 2/3 in the AM to go on here....but I stopped myself (thus the power of my will is very strong). Nevertheless, they think I am addicted, so I will grant them to have me go to a counselor for addictions.

Can I come and stay over for the weekend? I am pretty quiet and unobtrusive. :)

Wear pants - got it.

I don't know what I'm so worried about - so what if my kitchen's empty and my walls are bare? I've got more important things to do than cook and decorate, godammit!

Sure. Only if you bring booze and cupcakes though. It's a house rule, y'see...

What's the alternative to using the computer while you're at home anyway? Talking to your parents? Haha. You should make sure you eat and then they won't be able to use that against you. Also, I'd tell them where to go with the counselling thing. Sounds unreasonable.

Haha, I know. It is really a stupid thing because there is nothing to do at home. I'm apparently just supposed to "find" things to do. Also, I don't miss a ton of food, my appetite is just decreased....gotta make sure to eat so I can keep on running. They suggested someone in my ward (from my church) that is pretty trustworthy. It is crazy, they just don't know how much control I have over myself.

They can only control you with the power you give them. If I were you I'd outright refuse counselling and observe their response. If they say they're going to throw you out of the house or anything - call their bluff. If things start getting heated you can give in and then they'll have had to work hard to get you to do what they wanted you to do. Seriously you're 18, I don't know why you don't have a computer in your own room never mind having to go downstairs where people can track your habits visually.

True. I've wanted to go to a counselor for a while now. It's just that I didn't want to go for computer addiction, but you take what you can get. It has gotten that heated before, luckily I am going to college soon. Family rule is that nobody has a computer in our own room, especially with internet connection. If worst comes to worst I can delete internet history....but I don't think it will.
