Everyone of these drives are bad, I have the worse luck with CD/DVD drives. Literally the only one working is my Server now and that sucks because I have legacy board I am trying to fix that can't boot from USB
I may have to boot from an ancient IDE drive and install on another ancient IDE drive
PXE boot would be straight up awesome right about now but I have no idea how to set that up but it maybe happening in the near future cause this is super annoying and these drives might go out the window. Of course my lone CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive that works is from 2011 and most of these are older, maybe they just never last and maybe I should be happy I have one at all
Also I test all my junk hardware periodically and aside from the above and the click of death from a drive that was long past its life expectancy my ancient tech still works give or take some thermal paste and a few new capacitors.

Once again, I got f!cked over by the government approved cartel known as medicare advantage plans. I was dropped by Gateway SNP (special needs plan, since I'm diabetic) since Gateway discontinued those types of health plans. I signed up with Geisinger Health Plans (Geisinger Hospital, which is affiliated with this group, is located about 60 miles northeast of Hershey, and is a major teaching and research hospital in the area, next to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Hospital and School of Medicine). I signed with them, since they were offering, what I thought at the time, a better deal (the Gold plan, which I signed for was offering $5.00 primary care physician copay, $75.00 Emergency Room copay, $40.00 specialist copay, and a large PPO network. I inquired if my primary care physician was in their network, even though he, and the rest of the physicians in this practice, are Osteopathic doctors specializing in internal medicine. I had an appointment with him today, and as soon as I registered, the front office presents me with a bill for $250.00. It turns out, Geisinger inked a deal with WellSpan Health (York Hospital, Hanover Hospital, Gettysburg Hospital, and Ephrata Hospital, and their affiliated medical groups.). My doctor's practice is associated with York Memorial Osteopathic Hospital. Geisinger is refusing to pay any claims by patients on their Gold plan that are not generated from a WellSpan owned or affiliated facility. One doctor in my physicia's group has lost 138 patients because of this ploy (even though he's retiring in 3 weeks.)
Since tomorrow, December 7 is the deadline to change Medicare plans, I'm probably screwed. Last think I need is to spend all day tomorrow on the phone with Geisinger to move me to one of their other plans (which will cost me more money every time I see my doctor), stay on the current Gold plan and move to a WellSpan physician, find a different insurance company, or go back onto traditional Medicare. Anyone wonder why I'm having panic attacks again? Anyone wonder why I'm so-pro socialized medicine (aka Single-Payor or Public Option). Any wonder I HATE politicians of any type?

Because of the MediGap plans I looked at, they will not cover mental health issues.
Anyhow, I had a discussion with Geisinger this morning and my physician's billing office this morning. Turns out There are 2 versions of Geisinger's gold plan. They have a gold plan that is an HMO, and a gold plan that's is a PPO. The salesperson I talked to signed me up on Geisinger Gold PPO, which means I can see any doctor or specialist In or Out of Network and Geisinger will pay the amount, less copayment. I suspect that those who are being forced to changes doctor's to a doctor affiliated with WellSpan Health signed up with Geisinger Gold HMO, where the Doctor must be affiliated with WellSpan locally (don't even get me started with Lancaster General Hosptial, since they're affiliated with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Medicine, and their affiliated Insurance plan. I've had issues with UPenn Hospitals ever since they refused to treat an autistic man with heart disease since he could not tell the heart specialists the names of all 19 medications he was taking).
Geisinger's rep even stated, if they don't pay up on the doctor's billing office, I am to instruct them to process the claim through Traditional Medicare, then have my doctor bill me for the difference, then submit the bill for the difference to Geisinger for payment, less copay.
Personally, I still think it's a load of horsesh!t, but I'll play it their way for right now, until the try to f!ck me over. Then, they're going to wish they never heard of me.
Have some stressful uni work that needed completing - spent a good bit of time today painstakingly typing up a large calculation based on the equation I thought I needed. Word's equation editor being what it is... well needless to say, creating a digital copy of one's mathematical masterpieces takes time. Then of course being a fool I discover I'd made a really stupid error and chose the wrong equation. Everything had to go.

Why aren't you using TeX to type up that equation, since TeX was designed for formatting mathematical documents?

Honestly never heard of this until your mention. Just googled it and it looks promising, thanks for the tip off.

Por nada. Like my library automation professor said while I was in graduate school, use the right tool for the job at hand.

My AARP medigap plan F pays for my weekly psychotherapy.
