Halloween theme.
In the 1960s teen dance shows such as ‘American Bandstand’ and ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ were all the rage. They featured teenagers dancing to the popular songs of the day, performances and interviews with bands. There were many local versions of these shows.
John Zacherley was known as “The Cool Ghoul” and he hosted one of those local shows out of Newark, New Jersey called ‘Disc-O-Teen’. Since Newark was quick PATH train ride from the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan a main center of the counterculture and this was not a network show it was more relaxed and “with it” then the celebrated ‘American Bandstand’
