1 is also true. Both incidents from 1 and 2 were followed by a headache a few hours later iirc.

The video in question.

So 4 was the lie. In that moment, nothing was twitching.

I’m glad you’re home safe, Isabella.

I hope the tea was enjoyable.

1. I was examined for epilepsy many times because I wasn’t talking.

2. I thought, during those exams, that brain surgery was performed on me.

3. I enjoyed it when my mother dragged me down the stairs to rush to a train.

#3 was TOO correct. She was very rough dragging me down the stairs.

Morning all.

1. The worst argument my husband and I ever had was in an IKEA car park. Whilst I didn't realise it at the time, the positions with which we approached this argument underlie our core fundamental differences and frictions as a couple.

2. One of the worst arguments I ever had with my mum was at a concentration camp. She got so mad she walked off and I had to stalk her around Prague making sure she wouldn't get lost.

3. My worst meltdown was at a hotel in Athens. To this day, I am unsure how I managed to survive the night.

#3. The meltdown could have occurred someplace else.

I’m Jewish (though I’m non-practicing). Is your mother Jewish, too?

You are too good. Right, it was Istanbul.

No, she isn’t Jewish. My father in law is.

The argument ensued as we were looking through a museum and a holocaust survivor (of that particular camp)was guiding a couple around and talking quietly and privately with them. My mother walked really close to them crunching some extremely loud nuts. I quietly said I didn’t think this was appropriate and she felt that was insensitive of me ( to her). When she refers to the incident she still says “that time when you treated me so badly in Prague”. It was terezin. Where most of the children went.

I forgot to say Hi to Elsa. Sorry, Elsa.

How did it go with the kids yesterday?

Prague seems to be a lovely city.

1. I long to go to Bruges, Belgium. I was inspired when I watched the Tour de France passing through there.

2. I long to go to Calgary, Canada. I was inspired by knowing of its stampede/rodeo.

3. I long to go to Sapa, Vietnam. I was inspired by pictures of colorful rice terraces.

^^ Hello, It was all good. Rain stopped. We sat at the front and girls threw water at actors to simulate the storm. Paying for it today as I have a cranky child after a late night and sleepover with her friend.

I am going to guess 2. Maybe you have already been to Calgary? I have been to Bruges. It was only mildly interesting. Lots of chocolate, mussels and beer.

Sentient potato, do you think the twitching is migraine related?

Correct. But I’ve never been to Calgary, and have no particular desire to go there.

I guess you’re pretty used to medieval/Renaissance architecture. There isn’t all that much of that in the US—so it’s sort of a novelty to me.

Of course you’ve seen the Pissoir in Brussels :)

Sorry about your cranky daughter.

In honour of Fathers' Day:

1. My father was so shy he seldom spoke except to mumble short strings of echolalia such as "doo doo doo" while driving. One time he had to give a speech on a microphone and he was terrified for weeks beforehand. His voice was high-pitched from nerves, and cracked during his greeting. People giggled a bit (embarrassed for him), so he burst into tears and left the podium.

2. My father only punished me once, in my recollection. He spanked me for tearing the leather captain's chair on our boat, believing I must have had something sharp in my back pocket. I hadn't done it, but I felt sad for him and knew how important his chair was; therefore, I let him punish me so that I could apologize, he would process the upset and start to feel better.

3. My father refused for me to move to Montreal, Canada, to attend McGill University because it was too far from home and because he believed the international fees were too high (also, perhaps, because my mother's family lived near there -- lol).

3 isabella? Different university and city?

Continuing in that vein:

1. In greece, my dad once got off a train to buy a coffee and it moved off with me on it. I was 11 or 12.

2. In ireland, we picked up two hitch hikers and both of them had “relations” with my dad but not at the same time.

3. My dad dragged me along to nudist beaches as a young teen. I was only mildly bothered and just kept my clothes on.

Gosh... i made him sound like such a womaniser. Well he is. Put me off ‘charming’ men for life!

#3 for Isabella....probably a more prestigious university.

#2 for Elsa. Either he had “relations” with only one....or he had them with both at the same time.

Oh heavens, Elsa. I'll pick..2 -- I really hope it's 2 if you were there.

1. was true.

2. is my lie. The story happened but it wasn't his captain's chair. It was a leather bar stool in my father's man cave.

3 was true. When my McGill acceptance arrived I had already accepted an English school (and paid the deposit). I wanted to switch for the "cool" international experience of moving to Montreal but dad flat-out refused. He was very worried about me moving so away. It's just as well. It's a lovely campus but I would have evaporated from homesickness and culture shock.

1. My father constantly bragged about going to college for three years. He blamed us kids for his failure to get his degree.

2. My father was briefly on the Board of Governors of a Chicago mercantile exchange.

3. My mother had to change a tire for him in 1953, while they were driving to his army base.
