I saw an interesting bumper sticker on the way home from work today. It said, "I love Ukraine." I guess that was interesting to me because I studied a lot about Ukraine and that country has been very much in the news lately.

Performing these high-temperature reactions today:

And lighting some magnesium. Here it is just before it bursts into flame.

Here's what a strip of magnesium 1 cm long and 2 mm wide looks like when lit. It's extremely bright. In fact, for 110 years, this was what was used for photographic flashes.

finished learning to read and write hiragana... will certainly be off to start learning katakana within the next couple days. would like to start now, but probably shouldn’t until the recent learning properly sets to memory.

A vigorous swim to release some pent up emotions, which was effective, enough, yet I wound up going to a yoga class on the beach, which was a first for me, and it was wonderful. Yoga and any type of vigorous exercise have become my methods of choice, for easing stress and anxiety, or any other mental health related challenges, for that matter.
