Jessica Sandy Booth, 18, was arrested in December in Memphis, Tenn., and charged with hiring a hit man to help her kill four people so she could steal a brick of what turned out to be queso fresco cheese. According to police, Booth had seen the large block of crumbly, white, Mexican-cuisine cheese on a table at an acquaintance's home, thought it was a big pile of , and devised an elaborate plot to return later, steal it, and kill anyone in the house old enough to testify against her. Hmm...

Both Myself and Bearsac are great cheese lovers. There are too many to mention as our second fav cheese but we both share the same fav cheese -- Gjetost (pronounced ‘yet-oast’) It is from Norway and is orangy brown with a fudge-like texture and a sweetish caramel flavour. I'm not over keen on caramel though as too sweet but this cheeese has a slight sharp tangyness too.
It is not too widely available in the UK, not in supermarkets only good cheese shops.

Another cheese I love is also Norwegian -- Jarlsberg. (more widely available in UK)

I love blue cheeses and have loved St. Agur since I was a kid. I got upset a few years ago whan it started to be advertised on TV and the mass started eating it! That sounds awful, but some things are too good to share! I find I prefer the prepacked to the deli with this cheese. The plastic encasement somehow sweats the cheese better and brings outthe taste better than having it loose wrapped from a largee block. (with other cheeses I prefer it cut from the block and loose wrapped. Weird.

I love Cheddar that is so strong that it takes thre skin off the roof of my mouth and love to pull off the skin with my tounge!

Whoever said they like Gruyere, I agree too. I think it has yummy nutty taste.

Debra

I like Dutch smoked cheese.
Most other cheeses have to be melted first before I will eat them, but not Dutch smoked cheese. Yum!

Ah, a resurrected cheese thread, I see! No thread is too old if it's about cheese, that's what I always say.

Actually, I've never said that before, but I think it's a good policy.

I'm a big fan of cheese, myself. I like sharp cheddar, especially alongside a nice, cold Guinness.

And it just so happens that I have a picture of my favorite Lego movie actor, Alan Brickman, having that very same snack!

Yummy!

As a child, I hated cheese due to a bad experience with macaroni & cheese. The only cheese I ate was mozarella. Now that I'm older, I've gotten over the mac & cheese thing and I actually enjoy eating cheese. My ultimate favorite is still mozarella, but I also like Monterey Jack and cheddar. Mexican cheese is good too, especially on quesadillas. :)
