I did find it ironic that people criticized the Borat character for being anti-Semitic, when Sacha Baron-Cohen himself is Jewish.

He's also the cousin of Simon Baron-Cohen, the autism expert.

Borat is generally seen as offensive to many of the people of Kazakhstan..as illustrated by the comments my partner and I got from when we covered their fake national anthem:

This is actually the national anthem...we had considered covering it also.....it does have lyrics...but too hard...

Flakey's dad has worked off and on in Kazakhstan for years..."exploiting their natural resources"...as Flakey puts it..

I don't think I have seen Borat all the way through.

Ironically, my cousin worked in Afghanistan for Halliburton for a year, and one of the layovers on the way there was in Uzbekistan, the sworn enemy of Kazakhstan in the movie.

And the "President of Kazakhstan" shown in the movie is really the President of Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan's president is Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Azerbaijan's is Ilham Aliyev.

Funny that Turkmenistan is mentioned in the song. At the time the movie came out, Turkmenistan was ruled by a man who was quite the eccentric.
