Ironically, my cousin worked in Afghanistan for Halliburton for a year, and one of the layovers on the way there was in Uzbekistan, the sworn enemy of Kazakhstan in the movie.
And the "President of Kazakhstan" shown in the movie is really the President of Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan's president is Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Azerbaijan's is Ilham Aliyev.
Funny that Turkmenistan is mentioned in the song. At the time the movie came out, Turkmenistan was ruled by a man who was quite the eccentric.
