I have the opposite problem of pressing my pencil/pen too lightly. When using a pen, the ink always build up at the tip of my pen and makes my writing blotty.

I think we should start a topic where everyone must hand write replies to posts. No typed WP posts allowed :P.

I always use 0.3 mm pencils (standard here is 0.7), and I'm the only one I know who does that. It stops my writing from becoming messy, I rarely write with inc since it's impossible to correct. ^^

To have and hold hard topic

I used to write so hard as a child that my pencil went through the paper. (The point was very sharp.)

I learned to be a little more gentle as I would have to rewrite and rewrite if I shredded my notepaper too much. :( And I let my pencil get a little dull.

SWF does have nice printing. Large and easy to read. :D

That's what they say while watching me write,
however, the clarity of the results appear to be right.

Because of a couple problems with my hands I don't do much handwriting any more and have lost the coordination to do cursive - cursive mostly comes out with lots of cursing now.
I'll scribble short notes for projects I'm making and that's about it.

Probably a fairly typical pencil hold done left handed.

I have always had bad handwriting when i hurry it. ( it is good when i am not rushed, but if i rush it gets unreadable)

as for grip i hold my pen wrong (always have, i remember the teacher putting a yellow plastic triangle thingy on my pencil to help me to hold it right, (didn't work on a long term basis).

I usually hold my pencil hard, however, I'm not sure if I hold it right or wrong, although when I was a kid I struggled holding a pencil, and just held it the way it felt comfortable for me, and that's the same way I hold it today.

Well I've also always had bad handwriting I worried when I first started College doing Pre Algebra and writing answers I'd say you can read that? You know that's a 4 etc.? the teacher would say yes I was like oh. So College teachers can read my handwriting and yet elementary can't LOL!

I ruin pens because I push down too hard on them.

That was one of my problems too. That part is more or less under control. But still I do not use refillable pens or pens with a fine point.
