I was arrested last night for DWI. My BAC was only .15. That was the worst experience I've ever had.

Has anyone else with AS been to jail? If so, what was your experience? How did you react?

I think that DWI/DUI/OUI in the US should be dealt with just as harshly as is it's dealt with in Europe.

Yes, I've spent a couple of days in jail as an adult. Previous to turning 18, I was a juvenile delinqunet and was always in trouble and spent about a year interred at the Maine Youth Center. Yes it does suck, I deserved it, and if you got caught driving with a BAC of .15 you deserve it too. --You will get over it, and hopefully not make the same lousy choice again.

were you the kid up on the corner of Kellogg and Monument who told me to go call a postal carrier an a**hole? Only thing I remember about the kid it that he was with another kid (they were somewhat older than me - I don't know how old I was - maybe 6 or 7) and the kid who told me to do that had an ingrown pinkie toe.

Speaking of which did I ever tell you about the fire that I set when I was 7?

Don't know if I ever told you, but I used to live here:

Answered in order recieved:

No, the time period that you described placed that event @ 1990. I was living on The Hill at the time but I never really spent any time hanging out on The Hill, I just lived there. --I spent most of my time at the old Green Mountain Coffee Roasters on Temple St.

I knew nothing about that fire.

Yeah, you told me about a year or so ago. I lived a few blocks away on Waterville St in the house with the white foundation.

My bad, sorry about that. From June 1975 to April of 1981 I was living in North Dakota with my dad, and in 1978 my mom was still living in a 3 decker on Nye St., off Park St.

Oh, also, let us know what this costs you. The people I know who've gotten DUIs all end up several thousand dollars lighter in the wallet after all the fines and required classes, i've heard as much as $10,000 in some states here in America.

I don't even want to drive on my permit, and I can guarantee that I won't be putting myself in that predicament again. I don't do anything to harm anyone, or anything else criminal. I drove one night a short distance - not even a mile - to meet with a friend. I was done drinking. I was going to drink water and sober up. I unfortunately got pulled over. Maybe I made a wrong U-Turn or something. I was actually "pulled over" in the very spot that I was parking.

Anyway, spending 10 hours in jail, and having to dread every minute before my court date is punishment enough. I learned my lesson. I don't like living with another person, so being in a place like that was HELL. The last thing I want to do is go back. I'd rather die in a SAW film than go back there. I'm a good person. I don't deserve that.

I've been in a cell a couple of times after protests. A long time ago. As the other people there were fellow protesters and as I had books with me, it was no big problem, though the open loo, lack of blankets and winter night cold were unpleasant.

Never been, though I've never understood what the big deal was concerning solitary confinement; that's where I would want to be.

I have inspected a county jail though; I was on the grand jury and apparently that's something they have to do once a year.

I was arrested when I was 17, but if I admit what I did to get arrested, everyone will think I'm some kind of monster! But I got handcuffed, thrown into the back of a police car, driven into juvenile court, and put into state custody. I lived in a foster home until I turned 18 and moved out on my own.

Pretty scary to hear the tales of those who were arrested for no good reason, though. 8O

I've been to jail a few times. One time I was living back with my Mom and my brother came over and started an arguement, calling me a loser and such. I was drinking all the time and everyone was tired of it but I wasn't breaking any laws, but my Mom called the police and told them that I assulted my brother. I spent 6 days in jail. They charged me with domestic violence so now there's certain jobs I can't get and whenever I get pulled over the police call for backup immediatly.
Jail sucks!! Around here they take away your mats and blankets for most of the day so all you have is a bench and concrete floor to sit on, and they keep the cells at about 50 degrees so your cold and docile all day.
I'm sitting here right now doing volunteer work at a drug and alcohol rehab. I know for a fact that if I avoid drinking, I don't have to worry about ending up in jail.

Nope. But I got arrested for hacking when I was 14. x) 15 is the minimum age for criminal offenses to be seen as such. I hadde to carry computers at in the summer holiday, which kind of sucked. But it's more of a fun story. And I don't really feel guilty.

Oh.. To say it officially: ClassFronter has/had a sucky security. Don't use it. B) Hah. Owned! Bad publicity ftw!

/Seriously/?

Drunk folks can jack up a car before they drive two feet. Distance has nothing to do with anything.

A good person accepts responsibility for their actions. You could have killed yourself or someone else, or caused all kind of property damage.

The fact that you were willing to do that once -- and then your lack of remorse -- suggests you might do something like that again. Go to jail as many times as it takes to figure out how very, very wrong you are. If you still can't figure it out, kiss your license goodbye. Driving is a privelege, not a right.
