Congratulations. I wish you both the best.

My wife and I will celebrate our twelfth anniversary in May 2010. Being married isn't as hard as some folks make it out to be. I hope you find that it's the best thing you've ever done.

That's good news. Having been married and divorced twice, I have two pieces of advice:

1. You might want to read "The Other Half of Asperger Syndrome: A guide to living in an intimate relationship with a partner who had Asperger syndrome," by Maxine C. Aston. Be sure that lovely lady in your life reads it, too. (I found the book accurate, as did my wife at the time, but not very encouraging.)

2. When your wife says, "Honey the trash is getting full," she's not making an observation about refuse, she means, "Empty the trash." Sheeesh, NTs never say what they really mean. (How do I know? My wife hit the ceiling when she told me the trash is getting full; I look at it and replied, "Yup, it sure is.")
