I've had threads like that, before. I've had them where people attacked each other, or else they were attacking me. Oh, well...what do you expect? This is the Internet.

Once, there was this user who saw my messages that wanted to me to email him back, but when I clicked, I ended up with tons of viruses.

I made a thread once that had goodwin's law mentioned on the first page. 8) It's an accomplishment in my eyes.
No one flamed eachother but it was just someone comparing something to the nazis.

I have more of a problem with people misconstruing what I say because I don't fit their stereotype of someone that holds my views. I don't have too much trouble with threads that I OP because I don't post baiting questions and tend to post more cerebral musings.

Hello Dox,

I thought this thread was probably on page 4 already...................... and falling fast :!:

I enjoyed your response although I am only quoting the last part of it here.

I have noticed that a lot of the threads that stay on page 1 of a forum tend to be baiting questions and some of those sometimes seem to have no other objective than to be polarizing and to cause flaming.

ps.

I've even seen a few cerebral threads go down in flames :!:

It's more of a problem in PPR where I do the majority of my posting; the religious vs atheists or left vs right wing baiting threads are a real menace in there, where more nuanced threads tend to fall off the front page.

I hardly ever make any threads, so no.
