I wished that I lived in cooler weather. It was hot here in Virginia yesterday. I can tolerate triple digit weather in the Arizona Desert better than I can endure this hot humid weather of Southeast Virginia and the Great Dismal Swamp any day. I don't pay it any mind when my electric bill is high, I have to have my AC.

i lived in northern VA [between alexandria and springfield] for the 4 years i served in uncle sam's army, and i can tell you it was the most uncomfortable combo of hot and humid i've ever experienced, it was worse even than san antonio TX. i am so thankful and determined to remain in southeast puget sound washington state, there is not a more temperate location other than san francisco - but i wouldn't be able to afford living in SF, so here i shall remain.

I have thought about moving to Washington, Oregon or Idaho. I have friends in that area.

I returned here to Virginia to spend time with my son before he went into the Marines and also for a job offer. But mostly to spend time with my son.

I am planning to move to Talbot County, Maryland. I doubt it will be less humid there.

My children like this area so I will probably stay somewhere in this region of the United States.

SF would be fun. I have heard it's expensive. I love the West. It seems everyone is more laid back, its just so different almost like another country. I love the Atlantic Ocean but I miss my Southwest Desert.

I thought about buying an Airstream to live-in it while I travel the country. Who knows. :)

I lived in Wichita Falls, Texas for a year, and while it can get hot (110+ degrees sometimes), there is virtually no humidity. You do have to watch out for tornadoes, though.

San Marcos was a little more humid, but we had an unusually hot summer, and a drought to boot.

That's how it is with me and cooler weather.

In New Jersey, it's not normal for it to be over 90 degrees in BEGINNING OF APRIL!!,

On the contrary I do like it to be hot.

I live in SW VA (Blue Ridge Mountains) so it's a little better than in D.C. or Richmond, where it can hit 90 degrees at 7:30 in the morning. I remember hearing a weather reporter say that D.C. is considered sub tropical. It was a swamp before they drained it wasn't it? Anyway, WTF happened to Spring? Are we looking at 71/2 months till it gets cool again? I hate the humid heat because you never ever feel clean.

It's very nice and comfortable here in Key West. We haven't had the AC on at all and haven't had to use the ceiling fans. We are covering up with a light quilt at night because there is such a cool breeze blowing in. I think we are having unusually cool weather here for this time of the year and that's fine with me. The ocean is too cold for swimming, at least for my tastes, although it doesn't seem to keep people off the beaches and the younger kids don't seem to mind it at all.

It was 93 F just a short time ago. I walked to the shopping area to buy some things and got some sun on my face.

@Tim_Tex, I lived at Sheppard AFB in WF, Tex for tech school during the summer. It wasn't bad at all. I have wonderful memories of that time there. I had my own dorm room with a private bath. After boot camp in SA, I was ready to have my privacy again. It was the first time I had friends who all stuck together like a family, it was so different, it was great. :D

I was there for training at Sheppard AFB in the early 90s, but it was cold at the time because it was winter. I have lived in the DC area, stationed at Bolling AFB, and in CA at Vandenberg AFB. I certainly like the heat of California the best because it was dry. I would go back if I could afford it and take my family and pets with me.

I don't mind the humidity as long as I'm constantly hydrated, have shade, and have air conditioning as needed. It sure beats winter.

I don't meet too many people who went to Sheppard AFB for training. Moving is expensive and so is California. I have relatives who live there I would like to visit. What else did you like about living there?
