When people are rambling about their emotions you have to be quiet and not offer solutions because they are too wrapped up in how upset they are to solve problems.

On New Year's Day, don't fall into the trap of thinking your life has just magically changed because it's the start of a new 12-month cycle. If you want to change your life, you have to do it yourself, it won't just happen.

Major life events (death of a loved one, natural disaster, etc.) are a good time to defrag the mental hard drive, recalibrate, assess the current trajectory and maybe release a patch. Server maintenance.

Be careful, who you trust.

"Life as a highly sophisticated strategy game" actually works pretty well as a coping strategy.

Regret over not taking a risk often hurts more in the long run than taking the risk and failing. If you never allow yourself to make mistakes, you can't learn from them.

I wish I'd figured that one out a lot earlier in my life.

folk who have attended AA meetings have doubtless heard that "failing to forgive somebody means that you are letting that other person live rent-free in your head."

abe lincoln famously speechified, "It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words:

"And this, too, shall pass away."

How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction!"

If our small minds, for some convenience, divide this glass of wine, this universe, into parts--physics, biology, geology, astronomy, psychology, and so on--remember that nature does not know it! So let us put it all back together, not forgetting ultimately what it is for. Let it give us one more final pleasure: drink it and forget it all!

It's better to be real and lonely, than it is to be fake and popular.

My Motto from experience is "It's more than zero".

Any progress is greater than no progress. One step is farther than standing still.

Anything you do will either yield success or failure. Through success you gain results and rewards, through failure you gain experience and knowledge of that one way to fail (and there are many).
"If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward".
Thomas A. Edison

All is not lost, when you lose a partner, and time heals.

When you over hear someone talking on the phone, don't assume what they are talking about because you are only hearing one side of the conversation. Don't jump to any assumptions.

Being too open is a bad thing so you have to be careful what information you share about yourself.

You have to be careful who you rant to when you are ranting about a person you had an issue with.

When taking about someone, you have to be careful who you are talking to.

When talking to someone about your interests, if they aren't responding or looking at you or asking you about your interests, they aren't interested.

When talking, make sure you pause for a few seconds every few sentences to see if the other person has anything to add or if they have any questions to ask so that way they get a word in edgewise.

Some people say "I can't help it" as a cop out for poor habits, bad behavior, and rude behavior.

Some people don't know the difference between excuse and explanation.

People don't always want to hear the truth and will believe whatever they want to believe.

If people don't like what I say about people using AS as an excuse and not even trying because they're using it as a crutch, they will throw in broken legs, deafness, blindness, Alzheimer's, comparing it to AS because they are pissed and want an excuse.

Lot of people do not admit their wrong doings and their actions such as they might not admit they are a jerk sometimes.

Some people get mad when you point out their irony because of their pride.

NTs also can't accept criticism or else there be no white lies, beating around the bush, and sugar coating.

Obsessions and special interests are acceptable just as long as they are socially acceptable such as sports.

It's rude to tell people you aren't interested what they are talking about and you don't want to hear it unless you are the parent saying it to your child because you are their teacher and are teaching them skills.

It's rude to call people fat but it's not rude to call people thin because doctors are focused on weight issues and so are companies and magazines and it pressures females to want to lose weight and be thin. Look at a those diet pills and slim fast and models. It's considered good to be thin and considered bad to be fat even though being underweight is bad too but society accepts it. Look at Hollywood.
