both my parents are in the bright world above. but when they were among the living, they illegally fraternized in japan during the american occupation [just after WW2 end of hostilities] and by all legal rights should not have been married then. so by extension, i [as well as my sibs] should never have been born. or so i was told by an army recruiter.

My mum had me, in 1974. My parents got married, a year later, and they've been married fro 35 years, now.

My parents balance each other out: my dad looks at everything from a logical/intellectual standpoint and is good at dispensing wisdom, while my mom is more in tune to other peoples' emotional needs and is good at being empathetic. They are good people to go to when you have a problem.

My parents have been married for 50 years.
They came to a foreign country with five young children and haven't looked back.
They had another child here in OZ.

My mom and dad went to the same university but didn't know each other while they were in university. They only met after they graduated when they were both teachers at a school.
