When I was a kid Skodas and Ladas were always the butt of jokes.
I knew nothing about cars, but I'd laugh along anyway.
Skodas are a bit more respectable nowadays, but I'm not sure Ladas are.

Smart cars may be too small to be useful, and death traps, but at least they get good mileage. I've seen 2 people get one each side of a smart car and start rocking it - they got 2 wheels of the ground. Unfortunately, there were other cars adjacent, so tipping was nearly impossible.

I would vote for pinto. Maybe the Nova.

That one.

Oh come on, that's a ride with real character. Unfortunately, that character is paraplegic.

Russian cars from the Great Depression era.
Also, the Atos Prime (Hyundai) is terrible. We rented one for a while when we first moved to Turkey. It can't go up hills. Like, it literally can't. We had to take different routes because it wouldn't climb the hills...

I only can only attest from semi-personal experience, but the PT Cruiser is rubbish.

Quite easily, it's the Nissan Sunny

Image

It's not fast, nor is it slow; it's not expensive, nor is it cheap; it's not comfortable, nor is it uncomofortable; it's not pretty, nor is it ugly; it's not anything, one way or the other. Some cars (the Trabant is the perfect example) have character and soul because they're crappy cars. Some cars (for instance the Renault 4) are cool because they're ugly. However, the Nissan Sunny isn't really crappy either. It's so mediocre and boring in every single way that it has to be the worst car ever made.

On the positive side, a new Lada 2105 isn't more than 5000 dollars. The Skodas of 2010 are just rebadged Volkswagens. In Norway, Skodas are known as the new "people's car"/Volkswagen.
