Polishing removes dust. Altho' dust may interfere, your skipping evidently is not being caused by dust. It may be caused by a scratch, which polishing does not solve. Or more likely, the DVD physical production standards were not very good, and part of the media layer of the DVD has deteriorated and the data in that part can no longer be read accurately.

The loaf has a fairly large surface area which is highly porous, and this allows moisture to escape easily. If you dipped the whole loaf in wax, then it would stay fresh longer because the moisture would not be able to escape. The bread becomes more stiff when it is dry.

Alternatively, the drive-thru ATM equipment is just standard ATM equipment (and thus has braille) which is being used in a drive-thru situation (there was no need to make different ATM equipment or parts just for drive-thrus, and it did no harm to have braille on the keys even if unused, so there was no point removing it).

Warm air is capable of holding more moisture than cold air. This is a matter of physics. Less water is required to saturate cold air than warm air. Thus relative humidity (expressed as a percentage) is relative to the temperature (100% meaning full saturation meaning as much water as the air can hold at the current or specified temperature).
