I speak Pennsylvanian. Not a redneck accent. I slip into cockney accents when I'm in my Renaissance persona though. It's fun. :D

Do you sound like Chris Matthews? I love his excitable sputtering habits....kekeke

He's the host of the show Hardball on msnbc. I'm just going to put the link, not the video because I don't want to derail the thread :P

i wasn't even aware that there WAS an accent for where i live

in the USA you hear about southern accents, okie twangs, hillbilly speech, cajun jargon, and there's the new yorker and chicago accents, etc, etc.

But i've never heard anyone accusing someone from Washington state of having any kind of particular accent. As far as i know, i'm accent-less :?

Do other people around the states think people where i live have an accent 8O ?

No, the Nortwest seems devoid of an accent. tsk tsk tsk. It's ok, though, I don't have one either since I was raised military. :)

Oh, i forgot to mention, the native americans have their own accents, and there's the amish accent too, not to mention alot of the alaskans have russian accents since they have alot of russian immigrants and communities, and i think california has one though i'm not sure what to call it really, and then texan accent is a bit distinct from other southern accents, etc. etc.

and my dad was in the military too :)
He worked on submarines and was away alot when i was a kid.

You can hear me in the background giggling and talking... Not much of an accent... unless you count a Californian accent.

Despite being from Texas, I really don't have an accent, at least I don't think I do. I guess I'll let you be the judge of that.
