I can't claim to have the best grammar either. Y'know I can't even remember being specifically taught in school how to grammatise (Sp? Or spell for that matter :P). Was I supposed to pick it up along the way somewhere?

I write just like I talk, in bad grammar and short in verbiage.

I like your short posts. I tend to give up reading long ones.

I like short posts, too, though I don't always keep my own that way. Your posts are always clear, too. The only posts I don't read are ones that get way too long or are written in that phonetic text-y way. Those are like trying to figure out combination locks. It's hard enough reading regular English.

I likes posts shorty who'd cares grammarese. :)

I use short posts unless I'm ranting, which tends to happen a lot.

I'm a writing major so I'm expected to use proper grammar and spelling at all times. I don't nitpick other people, even though it hurts me to see sooo many people misuse the forms of your/you're and there/they're/their. But hey, if everyone had perfect grammar than my degree wouldn't mean much. :D

I make short post sometimes because that's all I can think of to say at the time but I do make longer post as well. It depends on the topic & my mood/focus at times to. As for my spelling & grammar goes; I'm dyslexic. I've always been bad at spelling & bad at punctuation. I S#CK in english. I also have bad typing; I have bad fine motor skills & I sometimes hit the wrong keys. I sometimes forget the spell check when I post or spell check may give me the wrong word & I don't realize it. I have to edit a lot of my post because I missed things when I previewed or I forget to preview. I sometimes type words like "the" out as "hte" or something. My dad's dyslexic to & had lots of problems with english as well. He quit college after failing eglish 3x & his teacher insisted that he would never pass; he was working in construction at the time & liked it & he's still doing it so having good grammar is NOT necessary for everyone. I also do spell some words wrong as part of my style to like I spell "were" as "wer" for example. As my post sig says  "If you are bothered by typographical errors don't; complain to me"

When I was 14, I never typed like this. My posts were long, without punctuation, almost unable to follow by anyone, and it was even worse with the vocabulary. Being on the internet since 2002, and especially being on IRC since 2003 has forced me to change how I type if I want to be taken seriously. It was a very long haul into only a semi good vocabulary and semi good grammar. But if I type like this, I usually lose my train of thought, because my train of thought is so weird as to take to seemingly unrelated things. So don't feel bad, because I type immature too. I used to read a lot and used to get in trouble for bad english in my english classes, so I guess it also sort of helped with learning to type better than having a bunch of run on sentences (which I'm still bad at) and no punctuation. The worst thing that I am at now is context. I leave a bunch out because of my train of thought ends up jumping from thing to thing, and only slightly realizes the context I was thinking should also be put down until afterwards. So I also end up editing my posts a billion times too.

But like already said, I type exactly like I talk... but sometimes I can't talk all long-winded like this.

I'm a bit of a grammar nazi, a quiet one though. When I'm browsing and come upon poorly written posts or posts with exceptionally poor grammar, I'll grunt to myself or start writing a reply correcting the post, but then decide not to out of fear of appearing a jerk.
I'm well aware that my grammar and spelling isn't impecable, nor is my vocabulary extensive, so I give people room for error.

However, your/you're, their/they're/there, here/hear, etc. are grieveous violations and not tolerated. Even if I won't speak up, know that I'll be sitting here in my chair, grunting, grinding my teeth and being generally displeased. Especially if I discover the offending post was made by myself.

i actually do it consciously. i have this weird thing about capital letters and apostrohpes when im writing informally. im actually slightly ocd-ish about it and go back to 'correct' it if i accidentally use one, particularly with capital letters. i dont see why people have to be assy about it. i can type perfectly when its required, as im sure most others can too

Well, it's kind of like what you do, except the reverse. We make sure that all our capital letters and apostrophes are in place. As for your last sentence; why don't you write perfectly all the time?

but you dont see me getting all self-righteous about your chosen writing style do you. i actually like it when people write uniquely in forums. why should i have to write perfectly for something like this:/. the same way i dont speak perfectly all the time, but can do so in appropriate situations.

you clearly understood what i said in order to reply, so no biggie in my books

As long as the grammar mistake isn't an elementary school mistake (your vs you're, they're vs their vs there, than vs then, etc), it doesn't bother me too much.

I feel much better, now. There have been some people who complained about my grammar and my limited post size. One of those people are gone. I guess that I can relax, now. :)
