Apart from being very particular about eggs and not liking cake much, I'm not too picky about what I eat.

I am however, very, very, particular about who's cooking the food that I eat, how fresh the ingredients are and how clean their hands, kitchen, utensils etc are.

If I'm not satisfied about the food handling, then I simply don't eat.

omgs, that puppy is so adorable. Is that your puppy? I want to reach into the computer screen and just hold her/him and rock her/him like a baby. :)

Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen! Her name is Lucy. Technically, she is my mom's dog, but she is such a dear, I like to claim her as mine too. :)

I'm not overly fussy. There are certain things I won't eat, but for the most part, they're just condiments that are easily removed (I hate pickles and onions, for instance). I guess there are a few main course types things I won't eat out of principle (lamb, octopus, squid, venison), but those are so rarely served that it has only been an issue twice (both of which were actually accidents on my part). I used to be a little more picky when I was younger, but I've grown to enjoy most of those things now.

I am not a picky eater per se, but I cook my own food and I don't add salt or spices, so when I eat out, it's always a bit weird. Recently discovered I've imposed onto myself a diet very low in gluten, which seems a bit odd. It's been, like, years of it and I never asked myself why. Won't eat red meat unless very occasionally, been like that since childhood.
What I usually order in restaurants is vegetables, salads without sauces, fish and rice and it's so distinctly unlike what people usually order that I've been asked whether I am foreign more than once. I mean, in my own home town!
I have some food texture problems, so I won't eat creams and puddings, like custard cream, crème brûlée, porridge, rice pudding, wheat pudding (basically any mushy food), also mushrooms (can't even stand the smell of them). Recently've I added to the list almonds and hazelnuts - I used to like them, but they seem to make me sick. Also, cinnamon and celery are powerful repellents for me - just wave a pinch of it in my direction and I'll be gone within seconds.

i would say you could probably drink me under the table but alcohol makes me retch in general, so i'd be worshipping the porcelain goddess before i'd be under the table.

I have no alcohol tolerance either, believe me, I rarely drink but I do like to drink fine whiskey and smoke expensive cigars once a year, it's one of my little traditions. :sunny:

I reckon it would be easier to list what I do eat, rather than what I don't, since I'm lactose intolerant, have gluten sensibility, can't digest fibre, have GERD, IBS, dyspepsia and candida infection in my gut. I can't stand coffee nor alcohol, anything fatty, fried or basically unhealthy.

However, if I eliminate dairy, gluten, sugary fruit, all sorts of fibrous food, anything with sugar (and spice), eat rice/millet/amaranth/fish/low GI fruits and plenty of ginger and mint sugar-free bonbons, green tea, I'm as good as new. :D

'worshipping the porcelain goddess' made me chuckle
Really, haven't heard this one, usually where I live this is called 'talking to the snake' or 'to the boa constrictor'. The idea being that vomiting sounds a bit like 'Booooahhhh'.
'Boy, did I get pissed last night, last thing I remember was having a heart to heart with the snake'.

I used to have some problems with the Harry Potter books because some characters talked to snakes quite a lot and every time it happened, I needed to go and lie down for a while

But seriously, I am surprised how many people on the WP admit that they don't like drinking and can't carry their liquor. In drastic contrast to most ASD people I know in real life who do drink, often quite a lot.
I myself can't drink anything 'harder' than beer and wine, and even that quite slowly, in moderate amounts and with lots of water.
