Good for you. Now let's see if you can get 17 pages of responses. I got more than that at Babycenter with one of my threads but I don't know how many pages it got because I stopped looking at it because the women in there were acting too dumb. 8)

Calculating the average number of replies in threads currently on the first page (not counting the sticky threads), we get about 39.
The average number of replies in a sample of 28 threads started by the original poster is about 24 - that is, significantly lower than the average. Case closed.

I think this sort of trolling is pretty much attention-seeking. You can't get attention in an appropriate way, so you flail and yell online, attempting to gain a sort of faux popularity in the belief that having people pay attention to you increases your social status. Of course, it doesn't; it only makes you seem quite ridiculous. In a way, it is a petit version of histrionic personality disorder which is not quite possible to diagnose clinically because of the lack of true dysfunction and the way it is enabled by online anonymity. Most people who do this will eventually grow out of it once they gain maturity, and the understanding that the attention they were asking for wasn't the sort of attention they needed; the underlying problem is probably a poor self-image which they had been artificially propping up through the self-deception that "if they are paying attention to me, I must be important." This of course ignores the intrinsic worth of a human being; often times people who are caught in this trap will be laboring under the fallacy that human beings must justify their own existence as worthwhile.

yes your posts get a lot of responses. that is among the reasons why i post less on this site than i did before. you are responded to fervently while i am not replied to. i am not jealous, but i think if the bulk of people here like what you say, then i should find somewhere else.

people like you are liked and responded to, and that makes me think that this site is fraught with superficiality.

i think that you and your kind are the most popular posters on this site and i wonder why i bother to post anything here because i am primitive and uninteresting compared to you with your popular and stupid sentiments.

people like you win over others who are insecure about what they should say, and they find solace in attaching themselves to your headlong confidence while you are barging through your life without any real idea of how it matters in a way that is extenuating.

you sound brash and sassy and you will attract those who see your feeble hands on the steering wheel of your miscalculated direction without suspicion, and you have many people who reply to you with admiration of your conceited but baseless satisfaction.

it makes me want to leave wrong planet because people are licking your bum with glee.

but i know that this thread is just a spattering sprayed from your anus, and it will not make me cease to be.

I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe he isn't even on the spectrum at all. Maybe he was told to get a hobby, and his hobby is trolling autism sites to see what kind of responses, he can get from various members of various sites, while watching Desperate Housewives on TV.

Hilarious post. 8)

But I think you've misunderstood. He's not popular, he just knows how to push people's buttons.

The first few posts he made, I thought he was legit, then he kept making more posts about "how sad everything is for me" to the point where they sounded fake.
I honestly think most, if not all, of his threads are topics created to see what he can stir up. He never responds to posts like this, and I wish he would because it would be interesting to see how he would respond. Maybe he knows its true and can't pull off making a good response so he leaves it at that. I don't know. But I would like to hear what is going on in his mind when he makes the threads, and I want to hear it with honesty, which is very unlikely to happen.

I don't know if the poster is a fake or not but I get the impression he is confused and depressed so he makes all those threads and I find it sad how some people here have to see those types of people as trolls than someone who is just troubled. I remember how messed up I was in 2007 and I kept making all these threads and posts about my AS diagnoses and saying I might be a messed up NT and how my mind may have gotten messed up from when I was a baby, did anyone think I was a troll then?

But now I feel sometimes this one mod did me a big favor by deleting my old account where I made those threads under because they will never be seen by anyone unless they are looking through someone's profile and sees their replies they made in one of those threads. They're ghost threads now.

Honestly people going around calling people trolls for this reason makes me uncomfortable. It's like you have no safe place to talk or else you get called a troll and be seen as one. I guess seeing a counselor is better than turning to a autism forum for support. That's what I did eventually.
