Not really, pretty much because the things I really want I can't afford myself. Which is probably why I never ask for anything sometimes.

You should ask for money or ask a few people to get together & buy it for you instead

Yes. I don't want to risk getting something I don't want, so I pick out all of my own gifts. I do that for Christmas as well. It takes away the element of surprise, but at least I never wind up with something I hate.

I have virtually no family, and what family there is doesnt speak w/ me. All my friends have to buy for their families and few show for mine. They put a $25 cap on gifts which ends up being gift cards or a gag gift

Yea ! ! def buy myself gifts, lots and its always..just what I wanted

I just gotta figure out how to suprise myself. There hasnt been a xmas or Bday "gift"in the past 10yr

Yes, what's wrong with that? Who knows what you want better than you yourself?

have to. People know what I like, I make lists and bookmark things I'd like. What do I get? A Star Trek magazine. I'm like, "what am I, 17?" I mean, they know I'm trying to distance myself from Trekdom...

I don't celebrate my own birthday. But I do celebrate other's birthdays out of respect for their beliefs.
