Virgo...

Having just discovered my own AS through my son's diagnosis, I have to admit that my interest in astrology (for fun) has probably made me feel more "normal" than I should have otherwise. As another poster pointed out, Virgos overlap a great deal with an AS personality. When I read about being a Virgo, well it just makes sense - like it is speaking to the AS in me. I've only come to realize that I was using my sun sign as a mask to hide behind so that I would never see the truth.

OMG it makes me wonder again if I'd take seriously this astrology stuff.
Could be interesting have the rate of virgos in wp, don't know if Alex could extract this information from our infos.

nominally sagitarius, but being born before the new moon, in effect makes me strongly scorpio-like. i only physically resemble a typical tall rangy sagitarius.
neptune and mercury live together in my first house, and scorpio is the slumlord [rising sign].

Astrology is a lot more complex than just your Sun sign. Astrology is an Aspie obsession of mine. It's taken me years to begin to understand how to see atypical neurology in a chart--mostly because getting a hold of accurate birth data (place, date and exact time of birth) for people with dx'd autism and other neurological conditions so I can compare and study has been slow--but it's quite a complex thing. There's no "cookie cutter" placement or aspect to says "This person is autistic." Human nature isn't like that, autism isn't like that, and so naturally astrology isn't as well. I cut my astrologer's teeth studying charts of people with mental illnesses and it's the same sort of thing there. You learn to look for patterns under the obvious stuff, the stuff every amateur astrologers knows--you have to look for patterns deeper and more complex than that level. And being an Aspie, I'm good at finding the pattern, even when it first seems to just be randomness.

I'm a Gemini with Pisces moon and Virgo rising. This is the basis of my username--I have Gemini Sun, Mercury and Venus, and Virgo ascendant and Pluto. Gemini and Virgo are both ruled by Mercury. in astrology, I'm a mercurial type--intelligent, rational, logical, communicative, skilled, curious, versatile but also nervous, tightly-wound, easily stressed, hypersensitive and easily overwhelmed. Mercury in astrology rules the brain, nervous system, as well as the arms, shoulders and hands.

My father is a virgo (like many of you guys said you were virgos) and he displays many AS traits. (no diagnosis though).
I myself, am a libra.. I don't know how that translates, probably a strong sense of "right and wrong" hahah

Libra is an Air sign--the intuitive-rational group of signs. I's ruled by Venus, which co-rules the brain with Mercury. Mercury tends to be associated with rational thinking, and Venus with the emotional, but like the human brain's rational and emotional "sides", the division between what Venus and mercury represents has many overlapping points. But one distinct between a Mercurial type my me and a Venusian type like someone with strong Libra or Taurus influence in their chart is Mercurials are more communicative--we seek out opportunity to communicate. I'm the type of Aspie who'll talk you ear off. Venusians are a bit more quiet, more receptive, more willing to let other initiate communication. Both Mercurials and Venusians are observant--we're always thinking about what's around us, but Mercurials tend to be more concerned with ideas while Venusians with other people. Both Mercurials and Venusians are very sensitive types.

Libra is concerned with balance--that's what the scales represent. Ying and yang. Everything n its right balance. Peace and harmony. My dad who was very Aspie-ish, probably an Aspie like me, was a Libra. He hated discord, arguing, debating, tension. He'd withdraw from that quickly. He could be very indecisive--a common trait of Librans, always seeing both sides of an issue. And like a typical Venusian. he always waited for someone else to start a conversation. Now, an non-Aspie could have all these traits--the difference with someone liek my dad was, his social deficits made it even harder for him to articulate and express his need for balance and harmony, just like I, an Aspie Gemini, have a hard time articulating my need for communicating. And the two of us together--him wanting to withdraw at the first sign of tension, and me perpetually frustrated over not being able to communicate as I want, well, let's say we had a pretty difficult relationship!! !!

I'm a Taurus, that's all I know, but I am studying Astronomy, so I know that astrology is just nonsense. :)

My sun is Virgo, my rising sign is pisces, and my moon sign is leo. I'm been intrested in WP for awhile now and have just decided to join, this is my first post ever. :D Anyway, it's nice to find some other people who also have an appreiciation for astrology. For the longest time astrology has been quite misunderstood. People usually look at sun signs or horoscopes and think that is the only thing to it when actually it is a lot more complex than that. I personally like to use astrology not to predict the future, but to understand people and their personalities. Throughout my life I have always felt different than most people and because of that I developed in astrology which has helped to understand some reasons (besides AS) as to why I am the way I am. Also, I just wanted to add that it feels nice to be able to ramble about something of interest to me and not have to worry about annoying anyone. It would be nice if the real world could be like that too.

Cancer  . I don't believe that the stars affect us. Although, most descriptions of Cancer seem to fit me, oddly enough.

Me? I was born during the astrological month of Aries. I was born long enough after sunrise that Gemini is supposed to be my ascendant, while my birth chart suggests the moon was in Cancer at the hour of my birth.

My sun sign is Aries
I just looked up my moon and rising sun signs. If those websites were accurate, then"
My moon sign is Leo
My rising sun sign is Taurus.

I read the write up about traits for people who have Leo as a moon sign. That did not match me AT ALL. One thing that sticks out is I like parties and gatherings to de-stress. NOOOOOO---that couldn't be further from the truth!

Some of Aries matches me, some of it doesn't. Likewise with Taurus.
