My parents have very old-fashioned names most people wouldn't give their kids these days: Wilfred and Georgena. My mom doesn't like her name very much, because she knows it's the female version of George, my grandfather's name, and that it means "farmer". She thinks it implies she's a stereotypical, very plain-looking farmer's wife. I don't know how my dad feels about his own name since he's never told me. My mom and their close friends and relatives call him "Wilf" or "Wolfie" for short. :)
