My birthday topic kind of threw up another one...

I was born at around 9 and a half pounds whatever that is in new money but grew up to be a 12 and a half stone stick insect...

So what was your birth weight (if you know it) and did you turn out accordingly (that is, if you were a big baby did you turn out small or vice versa)... (??)

I was big; 9 lbs 11 oz and 21" long at birth. I have huge feet, but otherwise I'm within normal proportions. 6' 185 lbs with very low body fat. That part is hard work, of course...

I was 7 pounds, 15 ounces. 19 inches long, I think.

My older brother was about 6 pounds, then my younger sister was nearly 9.

My brothers were big babies too and they weight more than me. My oldest weighs over 200 lbs and I am not sure how much the youngest weights. Maybe over 200 too. I only weigh 120 now. I used to be more but I lost weight and I haven't been this light since age 12.

I think that's really cool to have a baby book, I wonder how many of us have one of those!

I have one for my son.

I think it's a great idea. Those first ten years are so precious. I'm so old I'm not sure we even had cameras back then, certainly not the internet and all the gadgetry that makes the recording of our lives so easy. In fact, the only common drawback seems to be when parents dig out those bath pics, yeah those ones, dead embarrassing!

I never understood why bath ones are embarrassing.

My brother was a heffalump of a baby, he weighed 10 pounds 2 ounces! You wouldn't think it now since he's like a skeleton.

You may have the best attitude. It's just how we are raised I guess, like we are taught that being naked is kind of not to be seen.

^_^ Nonsense! I'm sure you'd have been at least six pounds.

Well they are babies in the pictures and society finds it acceptable for babies to go nude and running around in their diapers only so why be embarrassed about it in your baby photos?

Personally speaking, it's not an issue, what I meant was sometimes there can be snaps of when they are a little older than babies. That said, of course there is nothing wrong with the naked form. What I emphasized was that the attitude we have towards the subject stems from how we are raised/educated.
