Not at all. My 9 year old decided when he grows up he wants to be a police officer so that he can put those "highly inappropriate" people in jail.

I know, awwww.. my cute little dictator-to-be.

You're serious?

What's not to be serious about?

I thought you might be having a dig at me or something. Some things need to be dicktated anyway.

I personally want to smack every idiot who walks around with their asses hanging out, would love to find their moms and ask if they feel pride when they look at their idiot children..... BUT.. I have no right to say who can wear what.. I have told people IN MY HOME to pull up their pants as I don't want my son to end up thinking it's "cool", but I think we have much more important things for our legal system to worry about then how people dress. And really, where I live it's legal to walk around topless (not that women actually do it except at the country fair).

I think I will end up kicking someone up the arse. If my kid walked around like that, i'd disown them. I wonder what would happen if I walked up to the counter in a police station just wearing underwear.

Oh man, this "fashion" is one that really gets on my nerves. I deviate between finding it highly annoying and, most times, highly amusing. When I'm walking behind someone like that I spend half the time averting my gaze and trying not to notice their underwear, and the other half seriously wanting to whip out my mobile and take a sneaky pic to post on the Internet for people to laugh at them. LOL.

There is this one guy who regularly walks along the street where I walk my dog, and he goes along with his mates and he's the only one who's got the whole "my trousers are falling down" look. He spends all the time groping around and pulling them back up, and looking round furtively to see if anyone noticed he was exposing himself. Of course, they just slide back down again, and he has to go through the process time and time again.

What's the point of wearing them that low if you're going to pull them up? Why not just A. wear them in the correct position in the first place, like a normal person, or B. commit yourself fully to your bizarre dress sense, and dare to be low?

Exactly. And most of those people actually are wearing a belt!

I find it annoying and often disgusting, but I think it's ridiculous to outlaw stuff like this.

Yes, this guy wears a belt, too, but he's clearly not using it for the purpose for which it was designed (i.e. holding up a garment) but just as a sliding, falling-down fashion statement.

But, seriously. Most of these people don't even realise the true origins of this "fashion" or the message they are actually putting across.

Isn't it true that it started amongst gay prison inmates, who would sling their trousers low as a message to their fellow inmates that they would be open to certain advances from behind? Or is that just an urban myth?

I ALWAYS want to remind them, but I've never yet dared.

The kind of people who wear those kind of clothes look the kind of people who would think nothing of beating me to a pulp and leaving me in the gutter if I walked up to them and said:

"Is it true that you want anal sex with men?"

I also don't like the gangster look. It looks very low class to me.

Yeah, they probably will, in a gang though. They're usually silly little chavs who are all tough when their friends are with them. I would say it though, you gotta fight fire with fire
