8O Oh God, it's one of those horrible pointless repetitive noises too, like a dog mindlessly barking.
Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof.
Kill them. Kill them all with fire!

Dogs are great fun - provided they're not just left to bark stupidly at nothing.
There's at least three around here that do it and then, if I'm really lucky, someone comes out and screams at them - and them goes back inside and leaves them barking anyway.

mine bark regards of weather they are inside or outside. And on occasions they will start howling, and keep howling because they are hurting each others ears

Back to the topic.

Sometimes I drift off too sleep at 1:30 or 2:00 in the morning on weekday nights then i might wake up at 3:00 or 4:00 too go to the bathroom and then it might take me 1 or 2 hours too get too sleep and i wake up at 11:30 or 12:00 at lunctime.

is that an unhealthy amount of sleep? :?

I don't think there's any such thing, really, given generally good health.
You sleep as much as your body needs, plus those extra times where you don't need to get up and it's just nice to drift off again..

What might help with establishing a regular pattern is sleeping pills - there are some pretty mild ones around that just help with sleeping, as opposed to knocking you out.

Alternatively, there's Melatonin. I've been using it for the past couple of months and it actually works.
It's not a drug and doesn't 'force' tiredness, but it certainly smooths out the relentless 'think, think, think' thing I tend to get when all I want to do is sleep, and the quality of sleep is much better.
Only 3mg just before going to bed.
These are what I used - I found them via Amazon but they've stopped selling them.

Here's Swanson's description of Melatonin:

It's the sort of thing a health food shop might sell so it could be worth checking out.
