I find it very doubtful.....even though the weather has been weird, but I do live in Colorado so snow storms with lighting and thunder are fairly normal.

It would give everyone a well deserved break.

Not to mention the ironing that awaits me oh and Cicero 8O for the next week! And the exams. One small, tiny rapture would be just the thing I need...

I'd be pretty annoyed if getting poked with needles Saturday morning was the last thing I ever did.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. It says right there in the Bible that man will not know when his time will come. The people who believe otherwise will most likely die a little inside when they realize that they were wrong.

One of my roommates thinks the Rapture is going to happen, but he's not exactly the most informed about such things. At least six of my other roommates have agreed with me and said that such a thing will not happen this Saturday. Even the staff agree that such a thing won't happen.

But then again, what are the chances that these people who think they have the right date might actually be right? That's the part about it that has gotten me all worried inside. Even if it is just a coincidence, there is still that chance that they could be right - however slim it might be.

Either way I'm not too worried, save for the usual tidbits of paranoia I face that come from being fed the Bible growing up as well as my own casual pursuits of studying religion. I try to be logical about it, but I guess that isn't going to happen.

Oh well. At least there will be some interesting things to look at when it happens :3

In the news Christian leaders were saying it isn't going to happen Saturday. Because in the bible its supposed to say noone knows when it will happen. So this could mean that 2012 is also false.

Mine as well. I can't say that I'm not looking forward to it.

Actually, I change that, here are the actual words from the scriptures:

Thessalonians
Chapter 5
The Saints will know the season of the Second Coming of Christ—Live the way Saints should live—Rejoice evermore—Do not despise prophesyings.

1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

To be fair (a habit of mine - sometimes wish I could break it), the Family Radio people don't think the world will end on Saturday - they expect the Rapture. They don't think the world will end for six months after that, in October (a month after I finally get my car paid off!).

Not sure how they reconcile that with the part of the Book of Revelation that claims that a) the Rapture comes after the Tribulation; and b) the Tribulation is supposed to last for a thousand years, not six months. Maybe their God has ADHD...

As for that famous hippie on this topic:

Matthew 24:42-44 wrote:
Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. For this reason you must also be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think he will.

Mark 13:32 wrote:
But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Acts 1:6-7 wrote:
So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"

He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority..."

That would make this a perfect date. The one day it shouldn't be!

I hope not. I hope to live a perverted life and pray on my last day to get to heaven if there is a god.

What time on Saturday will the rapture arrive and what timezone will be it applicable? It's still Friday in the USA when it's Saturday in Australia!

I heard a very funny idea circulating on the internet: If you know someone that believes the may 21st hype, consider getting a male and female set of workout clothes (shoes, underwear, water bottles, everything) and a dog leash and collar, and very late Friday night or very early Saturday morning go lay it out in front of their house!

Well, my circumstances are sure similar to yours; even with the varying differences correlated to my own personal paradigm they still are quite similar. Let's hope that works out for us both.

And yes, I would like to reiterate, that I do not think that the Rapture will happen this Saturday, though some part of me is paranoid that it might happen. Another part of me thinks that there is perhaps a slight chance that these Fundamentalists will be right, though only in the manner of a sheer coincidence. But I try to be logical about this despite my own understanding of religion and my own personal paradigm - which seems rather illogical even to the Fundamentalists I know personally.

Regardless, we will just have to wait and see. And to reiterate this point, at least there will be some interesting things to see upon that day. Very interesting things indeed, and I hope to have my cellphone on hand just for those things if they do happen.
