once, when i was in 3rd grade, we had a nut hatch fly smack dab into our (big) kitchen window....
i was so worried for him, but he was ok! i just got to hold him and let him sit on my hand until he gathered himself back up and flew away. so i bet either that happened, or someone sat there with a nector-covered hand for a very long time.
i used to love all kinds of birds. i would watch them with my grandfather. he gave me an audubon book and i used it to learn how to draw every kind of bird there was. can still probably do it too! if only i cold learn there calls, i stink at that sort of thing.
