L-Phenylalanine is dangerous by itself; it needs to be taken along with other amino acids such as L-Cystine. Hence why Aspartame is so dangerous. L-Phenylalanine crosses the blood brain barrier too quickly and wreaks havoc on the central nervous system if consumed by itself. Another reason Aspartame is bad.
Many energy drinks contain B12 and ginseng. The B12 would be good except it is in the form of cyanocobalamine which is neurotoxic in Autistics, those with chronic illnesses, smokers and those that live in industrial areas. Ginseng is good for men, but it makes women menstruate too heavily. Taurine is actually considered a good supplement for Autistics (and also Cats.)
