I love reading old posts. :)

^ Me too, it's what I do if I have any spare time on my hands, which is probably rather sad of me!

I really like wrong planet...ya'll are like family to me. In my offline life I am kinda of a recluse by force because I take care of my mom who is severely chronicly ill and I cant drive, so I am dependant on her to take me places when she is feeling better, but that is not very often. Mostly its just running erands and getting back to the house. I have to admit my life is alot bleaker than I am tempermentally suited for. I rather be off-gridding it somewhere out in the woods at a hippie commune than being so isolated. I do it because I love my mom, but WP is how I get out of the house.
It is sad, I know...but ya gotta do what you gotta do

I haven't even joined WP for 2 years yet and I've noticed that currently, most of the active posters joined after me in 2010 and 2011. I remember several active posters when I joined who aren't so active posters anymore. Even myself, I've gotten less active nowadays. For me, the reason is that the posts seem interesting at first but then a lot of it get old, with recurring themes such as "AS and family members" or "AS and math" or "feel closer to animals" or "like to be alone". I'm not suggesting in any way that its a bad thing, I mean, its good that the new members have a chance to see and discuss these topics.

So do you think thats the reason why it seems like its only a handful of members who consistently posts over a span of a few years?

It could be because other members were getting their brains fried over disused discussions they didn't really understand and never mind the odds of agreeing to disagree but mostly, not feeling accepted on this forum by more advanced users and shoulder-rubbing encouraging moderators who take s**t that's others, personally.

If I don't mush well, that's another topic thread.

I've been on here 1.5 years. I'm more active than ever--As a "noob," I wasn't nearly as active.

Well, after some time you run out of topics you'd like to raise, you already shared your views with everyone on a site and wrote everything about you - the rest is just a repetition.

me too mr. former member, me too. old avatars and the circle of 'what is this website? i like this website! this website is fun! i'm seeing the same crap all over again! i'm becoming more indifferent! see ya guys, it's been real!!"

it makes me feel weird. i remember user's like MONKEY and Tea coming back, if only fir a day or two. it was neat, i guess.

Yeah.

i'm definitely already seeing mostly the same threads in the forums i go to. i guess that means getting *gasp!* out of my comfort zone.

(as if i had the wisdom to post anywhere else.)

On here somewhat, mainly for a peek and a lurk before I'm gone again. Sometimes I find something new and I'll post something, but there are some parts of the forum where a lot of the topics eventually repeat over time, and on these I've quit posting after I've answered them a few times already.

Me, too. Only I didn't become active until two years later.

I used to have an older account (2007) but I couldn't remember my password at the time. Still under the same name though, but it might have been MetalWolf.

I was just looking for a thread from 2004 that was just dug up and I was reading the first few pages of that thread. I've read an old post of mine and the posts of the very first WP members. I also remember their avatars from way back when. It was fun, just like walking through a museum or looking through an old photo album.

I think most regulars last about a couple of years. At least that's the trend I've noticed. Others however stay on a lot longer than that. Some stay on for years but only make a small amount of posts. My activity is sporadic, I'm inactive for stretches, but I've always really liked this forum and a lot of the people on it, so I plan to be around for quite a while. Long live WP!
